Second Step For Families

The transition home from a therapeutic process must build on the care, hard work, and attention that the family has undergone. Attending a program requires great time commitment, severe disruption to the family constitution, and a significant financial burden.  Protect the investment and build forward instead of relapsing.  Research demonstrates that nearly 90% of those returning home from a therapeutic experience eventually return to some form of treatment. The chaos that ensues is greatly under-reported but painfully felt.

We provide transitional support for adolescents and young adults ages 12 -24 and their families by providing the bridge from the controlled environment of program to home, private school, college, or other non-therapeutic programs.  Our Transition Specialists are located throughout the country, all with years of experience in outdoor programming, as coaches and aftercare providers.  The program for your family is tailored to meet the specific and individual needs of your adolescent, young adult and family based on the Aftercare Plan developed at the respective program attended.  In the absence of an Aftercare Plan, our Transition Specialist will work closely with you to develop an effective plan to meet your family’s needs.
