"The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page." - Saint Augustine

Missions

Each year, we sponsor a small group of young people to travel overseas to a developing country where they can use cultural conditions, peer relationships, and service to expand the participant’s greater sense of self. Our emphasis revolves around:

"Like this Inca door found in the Sacred Valley in Peru, international travel in developing countries has us cross into another landscape, not just physically but with our soul." - James Morton

  • Character development: Learning how to draw on your resources to make things happen.
  • Leadership and Followership Enhancement: Working together as a team.
  • Altruism: Understand how fortunate we are to have what we have and then share with others.
  • Learning through direct experience: Improve decision making and problem-solving capabilities among other critical life skills.

The General Format Flows as Follows:

  • Make sure that we have the right person: Application
  • Start as a team: Coming together to prepare for travel
  • Community service for children: orphans or street kids
  • Adventure: trekking, white water rafting or sailing
  • The group leads a section of the trip to put tools to use: The team leads the staff!
  • Reflection Solo: Making sense of the trip and how to approach the next segment of life
  • Returning home: Transitioning to your next adventure in the States.
